Bamford  SD4   1949

This engine was purchased from a vintage auction in Malvern, It is still in original condition and we have had it running, although it had a very nasty little end knock, on inspection of the little end pin it was found to be very worn so a replacement will be made, Bamford truly believed in over engineering everything on this engine is about twice the size it needs to be, the flywheel gib keys are almost a inch wide!!.  We plan to build a new chassis but are undecided as to whether we should restore the engine or leave it as per original.

UPDATE: 18-7-06 Engine has now been cleaned up and remounted on the new chassis we decided to leave the paint as there was so much left and I think it has bee worth it, Included in the overhaul was a the Big end re-white metalled new little end and piston pin and new rings .
